Yesterday, we became aware of vague threats to TCHS being shared via social media. These threats were associated with an event that occurred in the community over the weekend. Yesterday and into the night, we worked closely with local law enforcement to investigate each social media threat as we became aware of them. Please know, all threats are taken seriously and treated as credible until law enforcement determines otherwise to keep the community, school, students and staff safe. Investigations have not found any viable threats to our students or staff.

We want to address the impact of social media threats and sharing or reposting such messages on social media platforms. When such things are reposted by families, community members, and students, they become part of the problem instead of being part of the solution. Instead of reposting or asking social media platforms for “advice” regarding what you are hearing, contact the school or law enforcement directly to ensure awareness and get input from the individuals who have been investigating and managing the situations.

Reporting a threat to law enforcement and sharing information on where you saw the threat allows law enforcement to investigate the source of the post. Reposting or sharing rumors of a threat to warn others spreads it farther from its original source. This makes law enforcement's job more difficult to track the source origin and it takes longer to investigate when minutes can matter.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We invite you to partner with us as we work to educate and support our students by being a part of the solution. Communicate directly with the school system and law enforcement when you learn of something circulating.

We are grateful for the support and partnership of our local law enforcement agencies both the City of Tifton Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department, as they help us investigate and respond to community occurrences that impact our children and our schools. Today, as was the case yesterday, Tifton Police will have a more pronounced presence at our high school as they support us with additional staff to help us maintain a calm, secure atmosphere focused on learning.

🥚🐓 Our Animal Science students just wrapped up their Poultry Industry unit! 🥚
They explored grading, anatomy, and carcass quality, then cracked open eggs to study the internal structures firsthand. To top it all off, they celebrated with an egg-and-bacon breakfast! 🥓🍳

🔌💻 Students in our Cybersecurity Pathway got hands-on experience in the Intro to Hardware Technology class with a cabling lab!
They learned how to use professional tools to make, repair, and test Ethernet cables—including stripping twisted pair cables, attaching RJ45 connectors with crimping tools, and verifying their work using a cable line tester.
✅ The challenge: build a working cable that passed the test on both ends.
💡 The result: real-world skills they can use in IT and networking!

🎉 Tift County High School HOSA Visits Annie Belle Clark Elementary! 🎉
HOSA members from Tift County High School presented “Twenty Minutes to Boogie” to the 5th graders at Annie Belle Clark Elementary. The students got moving with a fun, engaging exercise activity carefully designed by the HOSA members.
Before the presentation, the HOSA team collaborated with ABC administrators to plan the lesson and ensure a fun and educational experience. 🌟The activity not only encouraged physical activity but also gave HOSA members the opportunity to interact with and inspire younger students in a hands-on way.

🌸💙 Blue Devil Blooms hosted our very first Flower Bouquet Bar at TCHS Friday during lunch! 💐 Students had an opportunity to purchase pre-made bouquets or hand-select flowers to be designed by our floral design students.

Hank, a dedicated 10th-grade beef cattle showman and Historian of the Tift County FFA Chapter, proudly represented us at the Legislator Showdown during the Georgia National Fair! 🇺🇸🐄 He was paired with Senator Steve Gooch of Georgia's 51st District and took on the role of mentor—teaching the Senator the fundamentals of showing cattle and how to work the ring like a pro! 🐂 After some hands-on training, the legislators hit the show ring in a friendly battle for bragging rights until next year! 🏆 We’re incredibly proud of Hank for his leadership, knowledge, and commitment to agriculture! 💙💛
