Welcome to the Charles Spencer Elementary Media Center!

The Charles Spencer Media Center is a place to read, explore, learn, create, and discover! Our goal is to help every student develop a love of reading while building the skills they need to become confident, curious, and independent learners.

Students visit the Media Center throughout the year for library lessons, read-alouds, research, technology activities, and book checkout. We strive to provide a welcoming space where every student can find books that interest them and experience the joy of reading.

Throughout the year, students also have opportunities to participate in reading challenges, special activities, and programs that make reading fun and exciting!

In our Media Center, students have opportunities to:

• Check out books and discover new authors, genres, and topics.

• Participate in engaging read-alouds and literature activities.

• Learn research and information-literacy skills.

• Develop digital literacy and technology skills.

• Participate in reading challenges and special programs.

• Learn how to independently find and select books that are right for them.
